Hot Trends for 2009!
No outfit is complete these days without a pair of oversized shades or classic aviator sunglasses, for adding some instant style.
Sunglasses are no longer just practical eyewear to protect you from damaging UV rays, sunglasses are becoming just as much an integral part of a person's wardrobe as a bag or shoes.
More than Practical Eyewear
Sunglasses protect your eyes from sun damage, and premature wrinkles caused by squinting in the sun. However, a pair of shades can do so much more.
Your sunglasses make a personal statement; the style you choose says a lot about your personality and your mood. Choosing a pair that best suits your facial shape is no longer an issue, with so many styles and colors to choose from. Oversizes sunnies never go out of fashion (due to their face-saving properties!) but select a frame which flatters your face rather than envelopes it!
Sunglass Styles
No longer just a simple pair of frames, from designer to budget brand, neutral to fashion-forward shades, thick frames to rimless - sunglasses now come in a colourful array of styles.
There are wraparounds, aviators, visors, cat-eyes or butterfly. Shapes vary from triangular, oblong, and square, to oval and the round rims, reminiscent of John Lennon. Mirrored and super-dark lenses will hide a late night, and brightly colored frames reflecting current fashion trends.
Nothing beats a classic pair of Ray-Bans, having mastered the look with its many aviator-style gradient-lens frames. Have several pairs of sunnies in your wardrobe, to team with your outfits and match your mood. The Ray-Ban Wayfarer sunglasses are popular amongst young Hollywood right now. The stylish colors to look for are Black-Tortoise, Black and White.
Sunglass Trends for 2009
Big is still in!- For ladies especially and there is also a definate 'retro' feel coming through in the new collections year.
Following the success of the RayBan 'Wayfarer' last year, which was the sunglass to be seen in, this year also sees the return of the RayBan 'Clubmaster', another blast from the past, with that retro 'fifties' feel. Colour is a must this year, aswell as the classic black and tortoise, there are hot pinks, reds, beautiful greens, cool blues and lots of white. Alot of this coming straight from the catwalks.
The classic aviator, is still big this year, of course in RayBan, but many other ranges including the limited edition James Bond 007 model, worn by Daniel Craig in 'Quantum of Solace' - this is a quieter, more understated version of the aviator. All 4 stores have a limited availaibility of this beautiful model.
2008 was the year of the embellishment. This year still sees a wide selection of jeweled frames, from crystals to rhinestones to large gems. However we are seeing some of the designers allowing the styles to talk for themselves, with the logos being less obvious. The new 'Chanel' models even have the logo hidden behind a rotating bezel, depending on how you feel, you can twist the logo to be seen, or not!
Let them dazzle in the sunlight and add a sense of sophistication to your wardrobe.
Think Audrey Hepburn, Grace Kelly and Sophia Loren. These cool retro style frames are glamorous and trendy, the retro influence, whether from 40s to 70s, is huge again this year.
