Bring Lives into Focus

At Eyesite, we support Vision Overseas Aid, a charity dedicated to helping people in the developing world whose lives are blighted by poor eyesight, particularly where spectacles can help.

Why is Vision Aid Overseas Needed?

Poverty and the lack of skilled opticians affect millions of people who do not have the spectacles they desperately need. For those in the developing world with poor vision, education and employment are out of reach. Many find daily living difficult and dangerous. With the correct spectacles, people can learn, work and achieve a quality of life otherwise completely unobtainable.

What does Vision Aid Overseas do?

Vision Aid Overseas sends abroad teams of volunteer optometrists and dispensing opticians who set up clinics, screen large number of patients and provide appropriate spectacles. Started in 1985, they have provided 500,000 eye tests and have given 250,000 people the ability to see with a pair of spectacles.

How can you help?

You can help underprivileged people by collecting and bringing in any old spectacles to your nearest Eyesite practice. Or by making a donation at www.vao.org.uk, by raising funds through sponsorship or by becoming a member today.
