Choosing Your Lenses
Choosing the right lenses for you
If you want to wear contact lenses, you have a choice of a number of different lens types. While making the choice to wear contacts may be easy, choosing the brand you want can be difficult because there are so many to choose from. To help you make the right choice, our optometrists have access to a wide range of different contact lenses, from a range of the best manufacturers.
Quality brands
Of all of the different contact lens manufacturers and brands, the unanimous vote amongst our practitioners for manufacturing the best contact lenses goes to Johnson & Johnson. The 'Acuvue' range of contact lenses have continued to innovate new contact lens materials and the new 'TruEye' lens, launched in July 2008, is the first Silicone Hydrogel daily disposable lens - providing the most comfortable and healthy contact lens currently possible.
As well as Johnson & Johnson, Eyesite offers the best lenses from Bausch & Lomb, Ciba Vision, Proclear, Sauflon, No 7 and Coopervision. By using the best each manufacturer has to offer, we are able to match your requirements in terms of vision, eye health, comfort, wearing pattern and budget.
Getting started - Contact Lens Fitting Appointment
If you are keen to get going straight away, you need to have an eye examination (or bring in a prescription less than 1 year old) and a Contact Lens Fitting appointment. Your contact lens fitting appointment is where we measure your eyes, assess your suitability for lenses and decide which lenses to trial.
Trialling your lenses
After teaching you how to insert, remove and care for your lenses we will send you away to trial your chosen lens type. We will ask you to come back after a few days, where we will make sure everything is fine before organising your contact lens wearing plan.
