Laser eye correction is an extremely safe, highly successful and life changing procedure which will allow you the freedom to live life to the full without dependency on spectacles or contact lenses.

The benefits of laser eye correction

  • Enhanced quality of life and freedom from the restrictions that spectacles and contact lenses can impose
  • Safe and successful, pain-free procedure
  • Actual laser eye treatment only take a few minutes
  • Improved quality of vision in all lighting conditions including night driving
LASIK procedure

LASIK (Laser Insitu Keratomileusis), is a highly successful and popular procedure for vision correction that has been available for over ten years. LASIK is a quick and virtually painless procedure that is performed on an outpatient basis.

It involves creating a thin-hinged flap on the cornea (front of the eye) with a precise surgical instrument called a microkeratome. The flap is carefully folded back, and the tissue of the cornea is then re-shaped by a special laser. After the treatment, the flap is gently folded back into its original position and heals naturally, without the need for stitches.

Leading customised wavefront technology

We offer all suitable patients customised ‘wavefront' treatment using sophisticated technology called Zyoptix®. Unlike standard LASIK, our personalised vision treatment can correct optical imperfections called aberrations in the eye and remove less tissue than standard LASIK.

This produces a better quality of vision especially at night with a faster healing time.

LASEK - Wavefront

AVC also perform the LASEK procedure including customised wavefront LASEK. This treatment is usually used for patients with thinning corneas or involved in contact sports. We will discuss the best option for you during your assessment.

Individual Care

Eyesite and AVC treat all patients as individuals and fully understands your hopes and concerns. Your care will be overseen at all times by your Eyesite practitioner and the AVC Medical Director, Mr C T Pillai. Our dedicated clinical team will provide you with all the reassurance you need to ensure you receive the best possible care before, during and after your treatment.

The clinical team will take time to answer all your questions and familiarise you with every stage of the treatment during your comprehensive consultation.

During your assessment with the surgeon you will have the opportunity to discuss which treatment options are most suitable and what results you can expect. We will only progress with the treatment once you and the surgeon are confident that the results will equal your expectation. The same high levels of care and understanding continue throughout our comprehensive aftercare programme.

Suitability

Most people who would like laser eye correction are suitable but if you are unsuitable there are alternatives that can be considered. To find out if you are suitable please book a complimentary 'Laser Chat' at your nearest Eyesite, where we will be happy to discuss all your options and go through any questions that you may have with one of our laser qualified Optometrists.
